Night lights recall 5

The Consumer Product Safety Report has announced a recall of 272,000 night lights that pose overheating risks. American Tack & Hardware Co. Inc. said that the Forever-Glo Cylinder Nite Lites have an “electrical short circuit in the night light [that] can cause it to overheat and smolder or melt which can burn consumers or result in a fire.” The company has received nine reports of products overheating but no reports of injuries. Cabinet locks recall 4

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall of more than 40,000 cabinet swing locks due to a latch malfunction. According to the product’s manufacturer, Learning Curve Brands Inc., the installed latches can break off, allowing easy access to cabinets. Toyota causes acceleration defect 3
These san diego personal injury attorney cases are prevalent throughout the state and the country A California woman has filed a lawsuit against Toyota alleging a sudden acceleration defect contributed to a 2008 freeway crash she was involved in. The woman’s Lexus suddenly sped up to 80 mph and crashed on an offramp, killing a passenger in the back seat. The woman was initially charged with felony vehicular manslaughter, but the charges were dismissed. The lawsuit, like dozens of others filed against Toyota, contends that a problem with the car’s computer throttle system caused it to accelerate on its own. 5 year old autistic boy voted out of kindergarden 2
This case has to do with Emotional Distress which is another form of personal injury cause of action. A Florida court has awarded $350,000 to the family of a 5-year-old autistic child who was voted out of his kindergarten class in 2008. The suit claimed the teacher of the class orchestrated a vote among the class, asking the students what they didn’t like about the boy and voting him from the class, 14-2. Couple’s privacy violated by Google 1
This is a crossover from Personal Injury into Right of Privacy, and in this day and age we will see more of withthe expansion of the internet. Google Inc. will pay just $1 in a settlement with a Pennsylvania couple who filed a lawsuit against the company over Google Street View. The case was filed in April 2008 and originally thrown out, but reinstated by a U.S. 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals in March.
