Tanimura & Antle product liability 234

Fresh cilantro has been recalled by Tanimura & Antle after it was discovered the cilantro may be contaminated with salmonella. Amtrak premises liability 233

An Amtrak employee has filed a lawsuit against the company claiming gender bias and discriminatory practices. Drug company artificially inflates medication prices 232

A Texas jury has ordered drug company Actavis Mid-Atlantic LLC to pay $170.3 million for defrauding the state’s Medicaid program. The suit accused the company of artificially inflating medication prices to receive higher compensation from the state. Unpaid overtime lawsuit 231

Current and former employees of Dick’s Sporting Goods have reached a settlement with the sports equipment retailer in a lawsuit filed over unpaid overtime. The lawsuit claimed the company required thousands of employees to work overtime without being paid. Strength coach files lawsuit against SDSU 230

A San Diego State University (SDSU) strength coach will receive $2.7 million from California State University to settle a whistleblower lawsuit filed against SDSU. In his lawsuit, the coach claims “he was removed as the football team’s strength coach and had his hours restricted” after participating in a 2003 audit of the SDSU athletic department. 6 brothers sexually abused by their mother 229

Sexual Harassment is another area of San Diego Personal Injury Law.

The state of Washington has agreed to settle a $6.55 million lawsuit with six brothers who were sexually abused by their mother during childhood. The lawsuit claimed that between 1992 and 2000, 33 complaints were logged with the state’s Child Protective Services department, but no action was ever taken by the state. Volkswagen Passat product liability 228

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating nearly 500,000 Volkswagen Passats that could have problems in their 4-cylinder turbo engines that could lead to fires. The agency has received 14 complaints of fires involving the Passats from customers. Air compressor recall 227

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall of 460,000 air compressors that can overheat and pose a fire risk. The compressors are manufactured by DeVilbiss Air Power Company, and it has been reported that the motors tend to overheat and may catch fire. “key drug” for lethal injection imported by Food and Drug Administration 226

Six death row inmates have filed a lawsuit against the Food and Drug Administration in an attempt to halt the importing of a “key drug” used by states for lethal injection. The suit claims that by allowing states to import “unapproved supplies of sodium thiopental,” the FDA is violating federal regulatory laws.
