Panera Bread Co. has reached a $5.75 million settlement in a lawsuit over allegedly misleading investors about the success of the company’s Crispani pizza. The lawsuit claimed that between 2005 and 2007, Panera Bread officials made false and misleading statements about Crispani, artificially inflating Panera’s stock. Officials also failed to report that the product was a drag on sales and gave misleading growth projections. The Crispani product was discontinued in 2008. A group of Denton, Texas, church members have filed a lawsuit against a Fort Worth-based bus company over a crash that occurred in Colorado last December. A Montana woman and her four children have been awarded $1.7 million in a medical malpractice lawsuit over the death of her husband in 2005. Toyota has announced this week it will be recalling 2.1 million Lexus and Toyota vehicles to fix floor mats that can jam against the accelerator pads.
