A $2.3 million settlement has been reached in a medical malpractice lawsuit filed against the federal government over a child born with neurological disorders at a military hospital. An Illinois appeals court has approved a $5 million verdict against the Diocese of Belleville in a lawsuit accusing one of the priests of sexual abuse. The suit, filed in 2002, alleged Rev. Fairfax County has agreed to pay $2 million to settle a five-year-old lawsuit stemming from the fatal shooting of an unarmed man outside his townhouse by a local police officer. Johnson & Johnson (J&J) has announced another recall of various medications due to “past manufacturing practices like insufficient equipment cleaning systems,” the New York Times reports. The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of 25,000 solar inverters due to risk of injury. The product’s manufacturer, Schneider Electric, said gases can build up in the inverter and blow the compartment cover off with a large amount of force, potentially causing injury.
