The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall of 700 rail cars worth of propane from Aux Sable Liquid Products. IKEA product liability 284

Home furniture giant IKEA has announced a recall of 13,000 RUND clear glass mugs due to a risk of laceration. The company announced that the double-walled glasses can break during use, posing a risk to the user. Drug overdose prescribed by medical clinic 283

Wrongful Death is another area of San Diego Personal Injury Law.

A Houston jury awarded $10.1 million the family of a man who died of an overdose in 2007 of drugs prescribed to him at a family medical clinic in The Woodlands, Texas. The owners of the clinic and its lead director were found negligent by the jury, who hopes the verdict will “strike fear into other ‘pill mills’ that have turned Houston into a national hub for prescription drug abuse.” The clinic’s director, Dr. Maurice Conte, was forced to surrender his medical license just three days after the man’s death.  San Diego personal injury attorney Cindy Horswell, Houston Chronicle  01/18/2011

Handicap parking lawsuit 282

The Philadelphia Parking Authority (PPA) recently denied a severely handicapped girl a handicapped parking space in front of her home, and she and her family have filed suit against the agency as a result. The PPA denied the request because the girl “didn’t have the consent of one of her next-door neighbors,” but the lawsuit claims no such consent is necessary on a public street. Raped at the Texas Christian University campus 281

Sexual Harassment is another area of San Diego Personal Injury Law.

A Texas judge approved a lawsuit for trial this week filed by a woman who claims she was gang-raped on the Texas Christian University campus in Fort Worth. In the suit, the student claims she was drugged and raped in 2006 by three student-athletes in one of the school’s dormitories. TCU officials, the suit suggests, “should have known that two of the athletes had criminal histories and posed a threat,” to other students. The Rhode Island Health Department has issued a recall of all Northeast Spring Mix salad mix bags after a sample tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes. Saab auto recall 279

Auto maker Saab has announced a recall of 4,400 cars to repair a faulty fuel pump that can lead to engine stall. Step ladder product liability 278

The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall last week of 38,000 step ladders that pose a possible fall hazard. The ladders, made by Cinmar LLC and sold at Frontage stores, can break unexpectedly while in use, the agency said. Tainted spinach product liability 277

A settlement has been reaching in a lawsuit filed by a Utah woman against a group of food companies over tainted spinach that allegedly made her sick. The woman claimed she ate spinach tainted with E. Coli in 2006 and subsequently suffered severe irritable bowel syndrome. Paramedics takes 90 minutes to reach destination 276

A Brooklyn man has filed a $20 million lawsuit against the city after his wife died of a heart attack last month when paramedics took 90 minutes to reach his home. A New York fire department report states that medics were assigned to the man’s 911 call more than 90 minutes after he placed it, the suit claims.
