Cumberland Pharmaceuticals Inc. has issued a recall of 6 lots of Acetadote Injection over particulate matter found in some of the vials. The company said the recall was issued as a precautionary measure, not as a response to illness or injury. Salmonella contamination product liability 353

A Washington state company has recalled all its clover and clover mix products due to salmonella contamination. The company, Sprouters Northwest Inc., announced the recall Monday, affecting six different products, all with buy dates of 1/16/11 and earlier. Bicycle handlebar recall 352

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall of 6,500 bicycle handlebar stems that can crack or break. The product’s manufacturer, Salsa Cycles, said the stems were sold at bicycle retailers and websites from April 2010 through October 2010. Environmentalists lawsuit over toxic fumigant 351

Environmentalists and farm workers in California have filed a lawsuit over the approved use of a toxic fumigant and carcinogen on state crops. Donald Duck grope woman at Disney park 350

A U.S. district judge has approved a lawsuit against the Walt Disney Company filed by a Philadelphia woman who claims she was groped by Donald Duck at a Disney theme park. The woman claimed she was seeking an autograph from the character in 2008 when “the man in the duck suit grabbed her breast” and molested her. Menopause drug causes breast cancer 349

A Puerto Rico jury has ruled that Pfizer Inc. must pay $1.5 million in damages to a pharmacist who allegedly developed breast cancer from the company’s menopause drug. The jury found that Pfizer did not “properly warn the woman and her doctors about the health risks of its Prempro menopause medicine.” This is the eighth case Pfizer has lost since 2006 regarding Prempro. Vegetable recall due to salmonella 348

Texas produce company J&D Produce has announced a recall of fresh vegetables, salad greens and herbs due to positive tests of salmonella. The company calls the recall “overzealous” and has received no complaints of salmonella infection in consumers. Medication mislabeled dosage information 347

Medication manufacturer Ritedose has issued a recall of their Albuterol Sulfate Inhalation solutions due to mislabeled dosage information. Albuterol is an asthma medication that could cause serious illness if the wrong dosage is taken. Goodyear Tire wrongful death 346

Wrongful Death is another area of San Diego Personal Law.

The Nevada Supreme Court upheld a $30 million verdict against Goodyear Tire Co. in a wrongful death lawsuit filed against them in 2004. The judge denied the company’s request for another hearing, solidifying the verdict. Investment company $92 million lawsuit 345

Investment management firm Pimco has agreed to a $92 million settlement over accusations that it “manipulated the U.S. bond market in 2005.” Investors complained in their class-action suit that Pimco had “created an ‘artificial scarcity’ in 10-year treasury notes.” The Los Angeles Times reported that plaintiffs had been betting short on futures contracts tied to those treasury notes.  San Diego personal injury attorney Staff Report, United Press International  12/31/2010
