A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed against Consumers Energy in Michiganafter an explosion in a furniture store last month killed two people. The suit claims Consumers Energy was negligent in failing to evacuate the area after receiving complaints of the smell of gas. That failure is a violation of the Michigan Public Service Commission’s Michigan Gas Safety Standards, the suit says.
