Police Department gender-discrimination lawsuit 262

Discrimination is another area of San Diego Personal Injury Law.

The Concord Police Department in California has agreed to a $150,000 settlement with a female officer in a gender-discrimination lawsuit. The plaintiff complained in her lawsuit that the department was “rife with overt hostility and disparate treatment toward female officers” and she and other female officers were subjected to a “de facto” male hierarchy. In 1999, the city paid $1.25 million to the plaintiff and other female employees to settle a similar lawsuit.  San Diego personal injury attorney Henry K. Lee, San Francisco Chronicle  01/25/2011
