Drug overdose prescribed by medical clinic 283

Wrongful Death is another area of San Diego Personal Injury Law.

A Houston jury awarded $10.1 million the family of a man who died of an overdose in 2007 of drugs prescribed to him at a family medical clinic in The Woodlands, Texas. The owners of the clinic and its lead director were found negligent by the jury, who hopes the verdict will “strike fear into other ‘pill mills’ that have turned Houston into a national hub for prescription drug abuse.” The clinic’s director, Dr. Maurice Conte, was forced to surrender his medical license just three days after the man’s death.  San Diego personal injury attorney Cindy Horswell, Houston Chronicle  01/18/2011
