Fatal shooting of an unarmed man 299

Premises Liability is another area of San Diego Personal Injury Law.

Fairfax County has agreed to pay $2 million to settle a five-year-old lawsuit stemming from the fatal shooting of an unarmed man outside his townhouse by a local police officer. The man was being arrested by a SWAT team on charges of betting on football games when one of the officers claimed his gun “accidentally discharged,” killing the man. In 2006, Fairfax prosecutors deemed the shooting “was not a criminal act.”  San Diego personal injury attorney Tom Jackman, The Washington Post  01/14/2011
