A lawsuit has been filed against an Illinois state trooper who was allegedly responsible for the death of a Chicago woman who was hit by a truck while walking alongside a road last September. The suit says the officer “failed in his duty to protect [the woman] and that he should have known she was still under the influence of alcohol,” when he left her at the gas station.
